The Ballenberg Open-Air Museum near Brienz in the Bernese Oberland takes visitors on a 66-hectare journey into the rural past: over 100 authentic farmhouses, stables and workshops from all regions of Switzerland stand here in a natural landscape.
Hands-on craftsmanship: Whether cheese making, blacksmithing or basket weaving - over 30 traditional crafts are demonstrated daily. The area surrounding the site also offers charming gardens, pastures with animals and family-friendly break areas.
Practical for guests: a museum train ("Ballenberg Train") conveniently connects the entrances, restaurants and central points.
