Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge - Powerful nature in a UNESCO heritage site
The Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge is an impressive natural monument in the Reichenbach Valley and part of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can experience a 45-minute hike on a 1.2 km long, secured circular trail with tunnels and over 200 steps through limestone cliffs up to 80 m high.
The wild waterfalls, weathered grotto formations and swirling glacier pots are impressive - a refreshing natural experience whose power makes a lasting impression. The way back leads along a shady mountain forest path to the valley station and the "Schluchthüttli" café.
The gorge is usually open daily between May and October (May & October 9am-5pm, June to September 9am-6pm). Please note that access is only possible on the ascent and the route is not suitable for baby carriages or wheelchairs.
